100% Cotton batik quilting fabrics, expertly painted and dyed brilliant hues and combinations. Traditional batik art goes back thousand of years in the Javanese culture. Our selection of fabrics are certainly more modern than ancient style batiks, incorporating bright colors in every hue of the rainbow, and designs based on popular culture, floral motifs and even modern art style. The artisans in Bali, Indonesia that create these amazing fabrics begin with a base color, applied by hand and then with a copper chop the artisan will hand stamp the design in wax. The fabric is then dyed again, creating layers of color and design. Finally the wax is boiled off, leaving layers of color and design for your use and pleasure. Imagine the possibilities! Quilting or garments, curtains or throw pillows these batiks will fill your life with color.
